Native to southern Brazil the Jaboticaba, pronounced in five (5) syllables just as it is spelled, is a member of the Myrtle family and relative of the Guava. The botanical name "Cauliflora" means that it flowers and bears fruit on the trunk and mature branches. During its flowering period the tree is covered in clusters of small white flowers all over the trunk and branches. These eventually develop into dark berries, which are sometimes sold in delicatessens. The kernels of the fruits can be grown as bonsai which make pretty indoor trees. The bark has a habit of peeling off in curls as the trunk and branches expand. Great for indoors.

Native to the Fujan province of China. This tree has small white flowers that can bloom at any time. The foliage is dark green and small in size. The flowers turn into red berries that turn darker with age. Loves the heat and does great indoors.

Miniature hybrid with showy flowers ranging from light pink to purple and blooming on the new year's growth. Outstanding exfoliating bark, mottled pale grey to brown to pink in color. Widely used as a landscape tree in the southern part of the USA. Deciduous, keep outdoors and protect in winter. Likes sunny locations to generate blooms. Fall foliage color is red-orange.

Native to China and Eastern Asia and now grown ornamentally in the United States. The berries are employed as a "yin" tonic in traditional Chinese medicine for a wide variety of conditions, including premature aging, ringing in the ears and chronic toxicity. White flowers are attractive during late spring and early summer. Does well indoors. One of our favorites.

This tiny red macro mini rose is a bloom machine in miniature growing only to 9" tall. It has light green tiny leaves with a compact uniform growth habit. This disease resistant variety produces well shaped blooms up to 1/2" diameter. It has a delicate red color, with soft petals. Summer flowering Jasmine from western and southern China. Has small leaves and very fragrant orange-like blossoms which are followed by bright, decorative, red fruit. Winter Jasmine is native to western China and has been cultivated in the West since the mid 1800's. It has bright, glossy, green pinnate leaves divided into 3 oblong leaflets. We grow this winter hardy, vine-like shrub into tree form. Before the foliage appears this flowering beauty bears 1" bright yellow blooms at the base of its stems and slowly blooms up the stems. By late winter it flowers at the tips of the stems. Branches will root and produce new plants where trailing branches touch moist soil. Deciduous. Keep outdoors.

Also called Syzygium Paniculatum, Australian Brush Cherry. This indoor bonsai tree has small handsome evergreen leaves which are firm and glossy. Has large puffy white blooms in summer. If it receives enough light, the leaves will develop red highlights.

Native to Java Indonesia. Has small, red colored, berry-like edible fruit with acidic lime flavored flesh. Eaten raw and used in beverages. Great bonsai tree for indoor use.

A small evergreen tree that is a member of the mallow family. Native to tropical regions of Mexico and Cuba and also to the Gulf States of the U.S. Commonly called Turk's Cap and Cardinals Hat because the flower petals only partially unfurl, producing narrow funnel shaped bright red flowers.
